Columbus, which was established in 1930 and has more than 90 years of history, is truly the best Japanese company that specializes in Shoe Cream and Shoe Care. In 1965, by starting to put descriptive label on their shoe cream products for the industry’s first, Columbus took the leading role to improve the quality of shoe care products. In 1999, just before the 70th anniversary, the base for mass production of stable-quality products has been established by running new facilities in Matzdo area.
10 years later, in 2008, Columbus Shanghai was established and Columbus shoe shine store
in Haneda, Tokyo has recorded for 1 million accumulated visitors.

Even though shoe and leather care products were mainly targeted for male customers in 1970s, Columbus released products for female customers in 1977. Furthermore, Matzdo facilities are opened for local people , especially for local students, so that they can learn how the products are used in our daily life.
